Testimonials
The Starlets "Have had the pleasure of working with Ruari and found him to be not only a very talented trumpeter of rich tone, depth, and subtlety but also to be reliable, conscientious, and an extremely easy going, courteous man.  He also wears a very stylish hat, tilted just so, a little bit like Jimmy Stewart in "Harvey".  We would very much hope to work with Ruari again."

"I had the honour of having Ruari record on a track on my album. You couldn't wish for a better presence in the recording environment - he is keen to hear what you are looking for, extremely focussed and yet despite this he doesn't loose any of his friendly and patient demeanor. What a joy to work with someone with so much skill and confidence that appears to have no sign of ego - he plays what the song needs!"
One word of advice: if Ruari asks if he can "try something out" because he has an idea, don't think about it, just get out of the way and press record...
Paul Reynolds, Ting Jin Group

Jazz Sunday  September 2010 first British performance of Alleluia for choir and trumpet obligato by Joe Utterback, Preludes by Gershwin.
"What really impressed me was Ruari altered the pitch of his trumpet to match the sharper tuning of the historic Victorian organ built by Lewis. Ruari is very professional and a pleasure to make music with and I recommend him wholeheartedly."
Nancy Crook ARCO,DRSAM,OStJ, Director of Music of Broughton St Mary's, Edinburgh

"Ruari has recently played on a number of occasions with the Meadows Chamber Orchestra ( of Edinburgh), both as second  and as principal trumpet.. He is clearly a player of very considerable musicality, technique and experience, and I have also received most favourable comments from our conductors as well as players within the brass section of the orchestra."
John Harris, Winds Fixer, Meadows Chamber Orchestra, and Principal Flute
